LOUISE EDMONDS

Meet the Founder

Founder of Grooming Recognition

Louise Edmonds, granddaughter of Australian boxing legend Tommy Burns, is a survivor of child sex abuse, assault, workplace harassment, and domestic violence.
She is a member of Australian Women Against Violence Alliance (AWAVA), A supporter of Child Abuse Protection Services (CAPS), and a Network Founding Member of The Independent Collective of Survivors (ICOS).

Additionally, she has partnered with A21 and Project Futures to combat child sex trafficking and modern slavery, has produced television to bring awareness to child sex trafficking and for the past seven years, has been featured in media discussing the hidden loop holes where predators can access children.

In July 2025, she raised her voice in media to protect children when the Joshua Brown childcare abuse case broke, stating the need for parents, carers and the government to understand how predators focus on employment in industries that have direct access to children.  She called for male staff to temporarily be removed from intimate care zones at childcare centres, while the government implemented strategies from their Rapid Review, and after knowing that 50% of Australia cannot recognise child abuse grooming, she called on powerful friends and advocates in this space to create Grooming Recognition.
